spent three weeks wondering why the translator widget had such a low adoption rate on the first install. watched people hover over the action button, pause, then close the tab. ngl i thought the feature itself was just boring
turned out the button was a pale gray on slightly lighter gray. basically invisible unless you were looking for it
changed it to a slightly warmer tone that sits against the background without screaming. took maybe 6 hours total, including testing on different monitors
conversion on that button went from 8% to 34% in the first week
it's wild how much friction lives in something that small, and how you can stare at the same screen for weeks and not see it because you know what you're looking for.
